About our Club

The Rotary Club of Parramatta City was chartered on 21 June 1972. The Club has always been a Club which is immersed in community initiatives. The Club has cooperated with and assisted many local organisations such as Northcott Disability Services, Parramatta Mission, Salvation Army and Westmead Children’s Hospital.

The Rotary Club of Parramatta City has also been very active in providing help to people in undeveloped and developing nations. Projects have included assisting a new school in Northern Uganda with the supply of a school bus, provision of an ambulance to an Indian community organisation, financial assistance and volunteer work for projects in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Philippines.

Local annual awards celebrating ‘Parramatta Police Officer of the Year’ and ‘Pride of Workmanship’ have also been organised and the Club has also funded a number of PhD research scholars through Australian Rotary Health.

We have also supported many short term programs for local youth as well being involved in long term Rotary International youth exchanges.

The Club has a sister club relationship with Rotary Club of Ramon Magsaysay, Manila, Philippines which has continued since 2004.

The Club’s major annual fundraising activity has been the sale of Christmas trees –an activity which has been carried out for over 30 years. Other fundraising activities include Trivia Nights and BBQ catering activities.
