Parramatta Police Officer of the Year Awards 2018
2018 AwardsA major project for our club is the coordination and hosting of the Parramatta Police Officer of the Year Awards each year. The awards recognise professional excellence and outstanding service by members of the Parramatta Police Area Command. The project is a team effort involving members from all three Rotary Clubs in Parramatta: the Rotary Club of Parramatta, the Rotary Club of Parramatta City and the Rotary Club of Parramatta Daybreak working together on behalf of the Parramatta community. Rotary members volunteer their time and donate resources to organise and fundraise for community organisations during the awards. About the Awards Parramatta has over 230,000 residents and has been growing at the rate of around 3% per year. As the unofficial capital of Western Sydney, it is a thriving city with a fast-growing urban centre that is home to one of the largest transport hubs in New South Wales. Parramatta is also a destination for thousands of visitors every day – people come here to work, study, shop, eat out, enjoy our beautiful parks, visit our heritage landmarks and attend our many cultural and sporting events. In this busy environment, the police officers and civilian staff of the Parramatta Police Area Command support the community and respond to its diverse needs, sometimes in very difficult circumstances and often in ways that aren’t easily acknowledged. The annual Parramatta Police Officer of the Year Awards provide a great opportunity for the community to demonstrate its appreciation for the work carried out by the Police Area Command throughout the year. In particular, the awards allow professional excellence and outstanding service by its police officers and civilian staff to be recognised and celebrated. The awards also provide an opportunity to raise funds for specific community organisations each year. 2018 Awards
The 2018 Parramatta Police Officer of the Year awards dinner was held at the Novotel Sydney Parramatta on 30 July 2018. The awards recognise professional excellence and outstanding service by members of the Parramatta Police Area Command. Over 170 people attended the dinner as the award finalists and winners' names were announced and as they were presented with their awards. Thank you to the Parramatta community, sponsors and donors for supporting the 2018 awards. Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners from the Parramatta Police Area Command.
