When and Where is RYLA? In District 9675, RYLA is held in January at YMCA Camp, Springwood Rd, Yarramundi. In 2018, RYLA will be held from the 2nd to the 7th January.
Who runs RYLA? In District 9675, RYLA is run by a team of young people, many of whom are past RYLA participants. The RYLA team consists of one Seminar Team Leader and other Seminar Team members who all work together to organise, develop and operate the RYLA program.
What to Expect… Everyone’s experience of RYLA is unique. What you can expect though, is to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, and to hear from a series of speakers, all with different perspectives on leadership, personal development and community.
Who Pays for RYLA? Each RYLA candidate is sponsored by a Rotary Club from District 9675. The cost of sponsoring a candidate is used to pay for venue hire, activities and catering throughout the program.
What happens after RYLA? Following the RYLA program each year, Rotary Clubs are strongly encouraged to invite their RYLA candidate back to their club to share their experience of RYLA.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership recognition program where local Rotary Clubs and employers select young people who currently hold leadership positions, or have shown the potential to lead, either within the community or at work. It provides an opportunity to participate in a challenging week-long residential conference, where you will get to:
- Discover ways to become a better role model and to more adequately face decisions on important personal, work and social issues;
- Exchange ideas, opinions and plans with talented, energetic people like you, in a supportive atmosphere free from pressure and distraction;
- Develop close rapport with your local Rotary Club, acquainting you with a leading service organisation and with decision makers within your community.
RYLA is open to 19 to 25 year olds.
